About

Mission Statement

The mission of Greentree Prep Charter is to prepare K-8 students for high academic achievement and personal success through rigorous study and instruction aligned with state and federal government standards in the best of the classical and liberal arts tradition to teach and reach every child and allow him/her to become a self-governing, productive, and reliant individual and citizen.

Our Vision

Students will learn and demonstrate academic success in all core subjects: math, language arts, social studies and sciences. While we are committed to high performing academics, we have a fun focus in which we will make learning exciting and interesting through hands on experienced based teaching and fun after school activities.

We hold to the belief that “every child can learn” given appropriate learning tools, measurable progress supported by consistent data, and a variety of teaching strategies that are used to match a student’s learning style.

Our primary intent is to enable our students to become exemplary citizens, enjoy learning, be able to engage in critical thinking, and to demonstrate complete mastery of educational building blocks to ultimately become successful, productive and contributing high school graduates.

About Our School

During the 2014-2015 school year, Greentree Prep Charter completed its first year of operation, serving 62 students in grades K-3.

Our school has incorporated the use of technology, district-approved curriculum, and online programs, implemented self-contained Gifted classes and enrichment materials in all classrooms. Teachers have effectively aligned classroom instruction to state standards, and have adopted challenging enrichment materials for students learning above the standards. Students have also attended field trips and explored various locations in South Florida. Our program promises to enhance and challenge students in all subject areas, especially in science, social studies, art, music, and physical education.

In 2014, Greentree Prep was designated as a Top 3 performing school in Broward County based on FSA results. Student scores indicated the high levels of performance identified at the school. The application of critical thinking skills developed by a classical academic foundation based on a liberal arts curriculum has advanced student learning and engagement. In 2018, GTP students were ranked #10 in Broward County for Mathematics, #2 in Broward County and #10 in Florida for Language Arts, and #1 in Broward County and #2 in Florida for English Language Arts Gains, all based on the FSA results.

In 2017, we moved to our new facilities in Southwest Ranches, FL.

Today, the school has approximately 300 students in grades K-8. The school’s student population is very diverse with over 32 nationalities.
